Ramon de Ocampo and Jesse Vilinsky team up to narrate this YA techno-thriller set in space. Vilinsky does the heavy lifting, portraying Sierra, a 16-year-old girl who is trying to save her father. The perspective is first-person present tense, an approach that allows Vilinsky's focused performance to outshine the material. Vilinsky makes Sierra's adventures seem like the most difficult or most amazing experiences ever. De Ocampo narrates only a handful of chapters, but they offer a break in the action, and his delivery is matter-of-fact and somewhat removed. Listeners won't want to stop when Vilinsky narrates. The action is relentless, and she barely has time to take a breath. A.R.F. © AudioFile 2021, Portland, Maine
